Arc Innovation

The City of Paris, in association with 20 local communities, introduced “L’Arc de l’innovation” in early 2016, a network for supporting urban, economic, and social innovation in the greater Eastern Paris.

Through public and private stakeholders, “L’Arc de l’innovation” materializes the communities involved in urban renewal and development. It enables the renewal of economic development policies by supporting cooperation and co-production logics.

The french graphic design studio L’Atelier Collectif (Thanh Phong-Le and Emmanuel Labard) created a visual identity based on generative tools. They animates an arch symbolizing the mapped territories  which this “Arc” is made of. Production Type designed the typeface of the institution. Arc is a rounded stencil typeface with simple and geometric shapes. Its sobriety makes the short texts composition easy, and its strong visual impact drives the territories instantly recognizable. Already available for general licensing, the 2 styles of Arc supports the initiative of the City of Paris by making the design of innovation available to a broader audience.
