Mochizuki Akiho
Mochizuki Akiho is an art director, photographer, and fashion editor. He served as a design director at large for "Dossier," a Japanese fashion magazine, and has cultivated a career marked by analog aesthetic in visual storytelling.
Born in Osaka, Mochizuki trained in Tokyo in the late 1980s as an aerographer. This foundational period in aerography —a specialized form of airbrush painting— is still influential to him and has permeated his work for years.
He transitioned to art direction through various involvements in the Japanese fanzine scene and design collectives such as Tempest, and art directed several lifestyle and fashion titles among which “Verve,” “Eclipse,” and “Spectrum” magazines.
