Constellation, the typeface of Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais
RMNGP was established in 2011 as a merger between two venerable French cultural stars: the Réunion des Musées Nationaux and the Grand Palais. The new organization required a custom typeface that would both mark its fresh start and fulfill its mandate of welcoming a diverse population to its ambitious exhibitions, lectures, and events. Production Type’s RMNGP Constellation is a font that ties the institution’s communications together across all media: wayfinding, print collateral, and web.

A randomized algorithmic font for France’s premier museum network
The dot matrix typeface Constellation comes in three versions: Grand, for display
sizes and fine details; Petite, which features more generous proportions for smaller settings; and Random, which mixes several randomized parameters. Based on the Mersenne Twister algorithm, the dot sizes in this version vary, generating a sparkling effect.
