Deberny et Peignot’s “Polyphème” and “Cyclopéen”
Polyphèmes and its elongated version, Cyclopéen, were already presented in the Spécimen Général of the Peignot & Fils foundry, in 1903. It is to say that more than one generation separates them from their “relaunch“ in a modernist specimen, whose text is set in Europe, intended to highlight them as titling faces. Note the promotion alongside them of “Rigaut blocks” also dedicated to the modern architecture of the page.
